What networking options does aGate  provide? 

Our aGate provides three networking options: Ethernet, Wifi, and 4G.   

 

What Wifi frequency bands does the aGate  support? 

Our aGate supports the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band. It is recommended to keep your WLAN router near your aGate  A wired ethernet connection is the preferred method. 

 

The initial login information for an aGate hotspot:  

 

Account: AP_last 9 digits of serial number. 

 

Password: last 12 characters of serial number (case sensitive). 

 

If you cannot find the hotspot on your mobile phone, follow these steps: 
1. Check if the mobile positioning and Wifi functions confirm whether the hotspot is turned on 

2. Check if the EMS module is working properly  

3. Check if the Wireless module is working properly 

 

To find the aGate  hotpot password: 

  
 1. Sign-in to the mobile app with the homeowner account 

 

 2. Click the side menu bar on the upper left corner of home page 

 

 3. Click " More" 

  
 4. In More, click on " FHP Hotspot " , the password will be displayed 

 

To change the aGate  hotspot password: 

The hotspot password can only be changed by homeowner* 

  
 1. Sign-in to the mobile app with the homeowner account 

 

 2. Click the side menu bar on the upper left corner of home page 

 

 3. Click “More ”  

  
 4. Click  “FHP Hotspot ” 

 

 5. Click the Hotspot password text to edit the password 

 

 6. Enter your New Password, and then Confirm Password. Your password must be at least eight characters and include a number (1, 2, 3…) 

  
 7. Click  “Complete ” 

 

How do I set up the aGate network connection via the FranklinWH app? 

 

Please follow the steps below: 
1. Sign-in to the user account 
2. Click More Local Connections  
3. Click Network Setting 
4. Choose desired networking type (Eth2, Wifi and 4G) 

 

What if the communication cables to the CAN IN and CAN OUT plugs are incorrectly connected? 

 

This should be avoided. Incorrect connection of CAN IN and CAN OUT cables may result in communications and addressing failures. Data cable testing is also recommended if issues are suspected with the CAN cable. 

 

What if the CAN communications cable wiring sequence is incorrect? 

 

Incorrect CAN wiring may lead to:  

  • Abnormal CAN communications. 

  • Abnormal aPower  communications. 

  • aPower  going offline. 

  • System power failure. 

  

For this reason, ensure that the cables are wiring according to the 568B standard and has been tested. See CAN Cable Testing article for more guidance. 

 

How do I reset the EMS? 

 

To reset EMS, you need to turn off the aGate  power switch, wait at least two minutes, then turn it on again. 


The shipping list of aGate  includes:

4 water-tight washers 
20 cable ties 
 2 screws
